Bittel Bound for Spring Arbor University

The Ontario Nationals would like to congratulate Jesse Bittel (IF) of Owen Sound, ON on his commitment to Spring Arbor University (NAIA).

Bittel joined the Nationals in January of 2022 for his 17U year. When asked what motivated him to join the Nationals organization at this stage in his baseball career, Bittel said: “I chose to join the Nationals with the hope of playing college ball someday. They were the perfect place for me to hone my skills and gain high level experience that would set me up right for college or university.”

Bittel is described as a calm and composed player who is not afraid to get loud when he needs to in order to get the team fired up. He is also very committed to his sport and his team, driving 2 hours in each direction to and from Owen Sound for games and practices. But it’s all worth it for Bittel who credits his mental fortitude for his success. “What I love most about baseball is the mental aspect of the game. Being strong or fast will only get you so far. If you are not mentally tough, you won’t succeed,” Bittel said.

When looking for colleges, Bittel was drawn to Spring Arbor because of their incredible baseball program, great coaching staff, amazing campus, and their Christian faith-based community. He is looking forward to meeting his teammates and creating friendships with them.

Congratulations to Jesse and his family on this commitment. We look forward to following him on the next steps in his baseball journey!
