Cassidy Commits to Colby CC

The Ontario Nationals are pleased to announce Karson Cassidy's commitment to Colby Community College (NJCAA DI) . Cassidy, an outfielder from Ancaster, joined the Nationals in the fall of 2022 for his 17U season, bringing his dynamic skills and energy to the team.

Cassidy made the decision to join the Nationals based on the experiences of former teammates and the desire to compete at the highest levels available to youth in Ontario. "Past teammates and friends were on the team. I wanted to stay in the CPBL so I could get the best development and competition possible at the youth level in Ontario," he said, highlighting his commitment to growth.

When asked about what he loves most about baseball, Cassidy's passion for the game and the camaraderie it fosters shines through. "I love winning, as most people do. But I love bringing energy as a team and making memories with teammates. I also like my bat," he shared.

Teammates know him affectionately as "Red Dawg," a nod to his distinctive energy and presence. Cassidy's unique character is captured in his own words: "The team calls me Red Dawg, but I think they would describe me as an 'annoying ginger', with random energy all the time." Karson's obvious sense of humour is a fun spark in the team's atmosphere.

The decision to commit to Colby CC was driven by its reputable program, excellent facilities, and a comfortable familiarity, bolstered by the Nationals' history of sending players there. "Colby caught my interest — being in a good conference, nice facilities — and I felt comfortable since the Nationals have sent guys to this program before," Cassidy explained.

As Karson Cassidy prepares to embark on this next chapter of his baseball career at Colby Community College, the Ontario Nationals extend their warmest congratulations and best wishes for his continued success on the field and beyond. The Nationals look forward to following Karson's collegiate career and the many accomplishments that surely lie ahead.
