Castro Commits to CCBC Essex
The Ontario Nationals are proud to share the news of Logan Castro's college commitment to the Community College of Baltimore County-Essex (CCBC Essex, NJCAA D2). Castro, a right-handed pitcher from Brantford, ON, joined the Nationals in 2023.
A culture of growth and excellence is what drew Castro to make the switch to the Nationals program for his final year before college. "I joined the Nationals this year due to their elite training and great coaching staff. Along with that, the environment of growth everyone creates. Everyone on the team pushes each other to be better and work hard," Castro shared about his decision to join the organization.
Castro believes the greatest reward in baseball comes from hard work, emphasizing, "the thing I love most about baseball is the payoff from working hard, it might not be instant but if you keep working it shows." His commitment to the sport is rooted in the belief that dedication leads to undeniable improvement and success.
Described by those around him as hardworking and determined, Castro's character and work ethic are apparent both on and off the mound. His approach to the game and life reflects a steadfast commitment to achieving his goals, underscored by a strong determination to succeed.
Castro notes that the coaching staff is what he found to be most appealing about CCBC Essex. "What drew me to CCBC Essex was the coaching staff. When I talked to them the first time, I knew they were experienced and had been coaching at the college level for a while. As such they would know what is needed to succeed at the college level and the next," he explained. This insight convinced him of the right fit for his academic and athletic ambitions.
Looking ahead, Castro has plans to further his academic career by transferring into a forensics degree program after graduating from Essex. His aspirations to combine a rigorous academic pathway with his athletic career exemplify the drive and foresight Castro possesses.
As Logan Castro embarks on this new chapter with CCBC Essex, the Ontario Nationals extend their heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for his success on the baseball field and in his academic pursuits. The entire Nationals community looks forward to following his progress and achievements in the years to come.
