Morgan Commits to Saint Xavier University

The Ontario Nationals are pleased to announce Jacob Morgan’s commitment to Saint Xavier University (NAIA) in Chicago, Illinois. Morgan, a left-handed pitcher from Guelph, ON, joined the Nationals in September 2023 and has since become an important part of the organization.

Jacob was drawn to the Nationals for the opportunity to elevate his development and work closely with the experienced pitching instructors on staff. He shared, “The opportunity to play for Chris Iltshishin, who I train with at Peak Performance Athletics, was one I couldn’t pass up.” Since joining, Jacob has embraced the team’s supportive culture, contributing with his hard work and dedication.

For Jacob, baseball is about more than just the game itself—it’s about the friendships and experiences he’s gained throughout his 10+ years in competitive baseball. “The friendships and experiences that baseball has blessed me with are priceless,” he said. A true student of the game, Jacob finds value in continuously learning and improving. “There is always something to learn, something to improve on,” he added.

Known as a quiet leader, Jacob holds himself to high standards and brings a desire to get better each day. His strong work ethic and commitment to both personal and team success have made him a valuable asset to the Nationals.

Jacob’s commitment to Saint Xavier University began to take shape after an initial conversation with Coach Rouse, which left a lasting impression. “From the first conversation I had with Coach Rouse to the experience on my visit, SXU felt like ‘home,’” Jacob explained. With its welcoming community, academic offerings, and the opportunities of Chicago nearby, SXU checked all the boxes for Jacob. He is excited to join a competitive program where he can continue developing as both a player and a person.

Jacob also expressed gratitude to the Nationals staff, saying, “The decision to join the Nats has been the best for my development and confidence. I am so grateful for the support of the Nats staff, especially Izzy, Jack, and Brady. I will be forever thankful for everything I have gained from the Nats program that has set me up for this tremendous opportunity at SXU.” As Jacob Morgan prepares to head to Saint Xavier University, the Ontario Nationals extend their congratulations and best wishes for his continued success.
